What are Your Salary Expectations?

salary-negotiation_965853Do not ever ever demand for any amount when being asked of this million dollar question on an interview. It’s a no no to give a figure to the interviewer. The only time you can demand for a certain amount or figure is if the interviewer are really insisting it. Most of the reason why interviewees have short interviews and are not given a chance to prove their worth is because they demand for an amount when being asked this question. What’s even worse is they ask unreasonably. So, to be very safe, answer the interviewer this way (but not the exact wordings please): “I believe any offer would be a fair one. I’m sure when the time comes we can agree on a reasonable amount but I would expect the salary that reflects my experience as well as qualifications I bring to the role. What range did you have in mind? “

This kind of answer impresses an interviewer and it brings back the question to him. (Again, please don’t use the exact words).
